On 23/03/2015, ENAC has accredited new Catlab tests; there are magnitudes of Microbiology (crops, fungal, mycobacterial, parasitic) and 3 Emergency Hospital Laboratories, which are added to the list of accredited magnitudes. Currently Catlab already has 92.5% of its accredited activity. Attached the ENAC technical annex that lists current accredited Catlab magnitudes.

The agreement, which was presented last January 26 at a press conference at the facilities of Catlab in Viladecavalls, establishes the relationship of the two companies for the next eight years. With this agreement, Catlab ensures technological upgrades to improve efficiency, quality and Laboratory resource optimization.

Catlab participated with the communication "Estrategia para organizar el proceso de la demanda. Lean" presented by Dra. Núria Barba, head of the Extra Analytic Area.

Catlab presents the communication "Clinical Laboratories and the Spanish Health System". In the HOPE Congress participants from over 30 countries gather to hear expert speakers in the fields of Hospital Administration, Cardiology, Laboratory, Radiology and Surgery. The event is a forum to share ideas on common problems and opportunities.

Organized by the S.E.Q.C. and BD, Catlab has participated in the organization and presentation of the course.

On 20/12/2013, Catlab accredited by ENAC according to Standard 15189, magnitudes of Hematology, Immunology, Cytometry, Cytogenetics, Molecular Biology and Emergency Laboratories, adding the magnitudes of Biochemistry and preanalytical processes accredited in 2012. Catlab currently has 88% of its accredited analytical activity. I enclose the ENAC technical annex that lists accredited Catlab magnitudes.

Responsible for different areas of Catlab have participated as moderators during pre-congress course "Anemias.Diagnóstico en el Laboratorio" and symposiums "Actualización en el Urocultivo" and "Enfermedad celíaca: Qué sabemos y qué ignoramos". They have also presented the reports "Metabolismo férrico" and "Urocultivo: sistema de vigilancia epidemiológica para la detección de enterobacterias superresistentes amergentes en nuestro país".

Catlab presents the communication "Types of incidents detected from 2010 to 2012 in two emergency hospital laboratories: with evolution and their influence on patient safety" at the ISQua's 30th International Conference. Participate experts and professionals for quality care to share the progress and the main problems encountered in the development of strategies and improvement initiatives in the field of health care.

"Catlab has been accredited by ENAC in the UNE-EN ISO 15189, it certifies their domain expertise in the areas of Preanalytical and automated Biochemistry. Currently we are preparing the accreditation of the 88% of our activity in areas such as Molecular Biology and Cytogenetics, among others. (...) "How to perform Biomedicine oral presentations " is a course organized by "Fundació Esteve" and focused to biomedical professionals.

The 2nd of June was Catlab's 5th anniversary. A celebration was held in "Laboratori Central" of Viladecavalls. Nowadays, Catlab gives coverage to 1,020,000 inhabitants and has a staff of 134 professionals.

On March 22nd 2013 the “Ministerio de Sanidad, Servicios Sociales e Igualdad” has recognized Catlab as Accredited Teaching Unit of Clinical Analysis speciality. The number of places is a maximum of two, beginning in 2014.
